I managed to grab some time in evenings and lunch breaks to do some field recording on our undergraduate field course to Nerja, Spain. I was able to explore the contrasting sounds of stormy/calm seas on cobble/sand beaches – I recorded the sounds of rolling beach cobbles on a beautifully calm evening just a couple of days after recording waves hitting a sandy beach during a storm.

Calm and Cobbles was recorded late afternoon by a ruined tower near Rio de la Miel (Maro), while Storm and Sand is a night time recording from the beach in front of the Riu Monica hotel (Nerja). River and Sea documents the Rio de la Miel as it flows over the cobble beach and into the Mediterranean.
